About Global Radio

Global Radio is a free directory of live internet radio. It lists 7,681 streams from 172 countries and lets you play them in a browser, with no app and no account.

We do not host any audio

This is the important part, and it is worth stating plainly. Global Radio stores, records, transcodes and re-transmits nothing. Every station here plays from the broadcaster's own public stream URL, exactly as that broadcaster publishes it. When you press play, your browser opens a connection directly to the broadcaster's server — the audio never passes through this site, and this site never sees it.

In technical terms the whole player is one <audio> element pointed at the broadcaster's URL. There is no proxy, no CDN of ours in front of it, and no copy of anything.

Where the list comes from

Station names, stream URLs, homepages and tags come from Radio Browser, a community-maintained open database of publicly broadcast internet radio. Where a broadcaster publishes an official homepage, the station links straight to it.

What gets checked before a station is listed

Three filters, none of which is editorial taste:

• HTTPS only. This site is served over HTTPS, so a plain http:// stream would be blocked by the browser as mixed content — silence, with no error a listener could see.
• No HLS. A bare <audio> element cannot play .m3u8.
• It has to answer. Every stream is opened and has to return actual audio bytes. A station that cannot play is worse than one that is absent, because the listener presses play and gets nothing.

A station that fails a single check is never dropped: a broadcaster restarting, a CDN blip, a geo-block and a dead URL all look identical from one request.

Advertising, accounts and privacy

• The site carries no advertising and has no accounts.
• Favourites and recently-played are kept in your own browser's storage. They are never sent anywhere.
• Usage is measured with a small first-party script that records which pages and controls were used, and whether audio actually started. It sets no cookies, uses no third-party analytics, and stores no IP address, no advertising identifier and nothing that identifies a person.
• Stations run their own commercials inside their own streams. Those are the broadcaster's, not ours.

Broadcasters: corrections and removal

If you operate a station listed here and want its details corrected, its stream URL updated, or the station removed entirely, write to contact@globalradio.app. Removal requests are honoured promptly and without argument — tell us the station name and we will take it down.

The same address reaches us for anything else: a wrong stream, a station filed under the wrong country, or a bug in the site.
