Privacy
This covers globalradio.app and the Global Radio app for Android and Android Auto. Both are run by Eyal Levin, and questions go to contact@globalradio.app.
Last changed 26 September 2026.
The short version
- No accounts, no advertising, no cookies, no advertising identifier.
- No IP address is stored, and nothing is recorded that identifies you.
- We count how the radio is used — which stations were played, whether sound actually started, for how long — against a random id that lasts one visit.
- Your favourites and recently played stations stay on your device.
What is recorded
When you use the website or the app, a small first-party script (and, in the app, the player itself) sends events such as "page viewed", "station started", "stream failed" and "listened for N seconds". Each event carries:
- a random id for that visit, made up on the spot and never reused across visits;
- what happened, the page or station it happened on, and the time since the visit began;
- the country your connection comes from, as reported by our host (Cloudflare) — the country only, never the address it was worked out from;
-
the kind of device, reduced to an operating system and browser family
(for example
android/chrome), orandroid/appfor the app; - on the website, the screen size and, if you arrived from an advert, the campaign that sent you;
- on the website, whether this browser has used the site before — worked out from whether it already holds any of the site's own settings, such as a favourite, without creating anything new to tell you apart.
That is used to see which stations work, which fail, and what people look for and do not find. It is not sold or shared, and it is not used to show you anything.
If you write to us through the feedback form or add a station, we keep what you typed. For feedback that is the message, the page you came from, the kind of device and that visit's random id, so a problem can be traced to what the player did. An email address is kept only if you give one, and only to reply.
What stays on your device
Favourites, recently played stations, volume and theme are kept in your browser's storage, or in the app's own storage on your phone. The app passes your favourites from its screen to its player so the car can show them; they do not leave the phone.
Who else sees your connection
- The radio station. Almost every stream plays directly from the broadcaster's own server, which sees your IP address like any other listener's. Their privacy terms apply to that, not ours. A small number of streams that cannot otherwise play securely are passed through our server on the way; the audio is not stored.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and handles every request to it, as any web host does.
- Google Play handles installing and updating the app, under Google's terms.
Session recording
Outside the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, some visits to the website's pages — including those pages shown inside the app — may be recorded with PostHog as a silent, reconstructed replay of the page, to find where it is confusing. Text you type is masked before it leaves the device, no cookie is set, and it never runs in the places listed above or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. It stops on 10 October 2026 without anyone having to remember to switch it off. The about page has the full detail.
Children
Global Radio is a general audience radio directory and is not directed at children. It collects nothing that identifies anyone, of any age.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app or clearing the site's storage in your browser removes everything kept on your device. The usage events we hold are tied to nothing but a random per-visit id, so there is no way for us to find "your" rows — which is also why there is nothing about you in them. If you have a question about any of this, write to contact@globalradio.app.
